Because Lesch-Nyhan is a very rare syndrome, the Association cannot rely only on donations from the few italian families involved: we need many supporting friends.
The Association mainly operates on two fronts: the implementation of real integration for people with Lesch-Nyhan and financial support for research into causes and therapy.
With regard to the first objective, we work closely with the families, in order to obtain personalized health and social projects; we also liaise with agencies that work with rare syndromes, both at national and international level, to stimulate a more adequate legislation on the subject.
With regard to the second objective, we examine and financially support specific projects, that we closely monitor and that we share with partners and supporters.
The Association spends very little for its own support (life insurance for the volunteers, which is required by the law, accountancy and maintenance of the website), so that the biggest part of what we raise goes to awareness campaigns for the difficulties of the families and financial support to research.

Every donation to Onlus LND Famiglie Italiane is tax deducible according to the italian law.
In order to be eligible for fiscal deductions, it is enough to submit the receipt of the donation, which does not need to be attached to your tax declaration, but just needs to be kept in case required. The receipt of the post office, your bank statement with details of check or money transfer or your bank transfer receipt are all officially considered receipts for tax deduction purposes.
